Dispatch Controller (Distribution Depot)

You'll plan the loads and watch the trucks for a distribution depot in eMalahleni, keeping every trip on time. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in eMalahleni; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles

• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Good with Excel and email
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Matric
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations

• Previous truck driving experience
• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
