Dispensary Assistant (Hospital Pharmacy)

You'll help a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Potchefstroom dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Potchefstroom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
