Job Description

You'll run the crushers, mills and cells that turn ore into product at the gold processing plant near Vanderbijlpark. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a gold processing plant on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
Take samples at set times and bring them to the lab
Log plant readings and downtime on the shift log
Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
Adjust reagent dosing and air flow to hit recovery targets

You'll need

Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
At least 1 year operating a processing plant
MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE

Helpful, not essential

Forklift or overhead crane licence
Laboratory or sampling experience
