Job Description

When production stops, the artisans get it going again. The diamond mine processing plant near Rosslyn needs you on that team. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a diamond mine processing plant on the Rosslyn side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Order spares and track them through the engineering store
Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task
Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers
Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
Test and maintain flameproof electrical equipment in coal sections

What you need

Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams
Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine

Extra points for

Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
Flameproof equipment training for coal mines
SAP PM module experience
