Domestic Worker with Elderly Care

You'll keep a family home in Randburg clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at a family home. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Water indoor plants and feed pets
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards

• Good with children and patient
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine

• Basic first aid or child CPR course
• Experience caring for an older person

• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
