Public Area Cleaner (Hotel)

Guests at a game lodge in Sandton will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Sandton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift

• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
