Domestic Worker with Elderly Care

A family in Vereeniging wants someone they can trust with their large estate home and their children. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a large estate home in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen tidy after meals
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer

• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Able to handle a full-day physical routine
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Good with children and patient
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised

• Non-smoker
• Experience caring for an older person
• A driver's licence for school lifts

• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Transport money for live-out staff

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
