Driver's Assistant (Parcel Routes) – Experienced

Delivery days start early in Benoni, and a cement and brick yard needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a cement and brick yard in Benoni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

• Friendly with customers at the door
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late

• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
