Driver's Assistant (Parcel Routes)

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a parcel sorting hub in George wants. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a parcel sorting hub in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises

• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Friendly with customers at the door
• No criminal record
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Past work as a driver's assistant
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
