Driver's Assistant (Parcel Routes)

You'll load and offload trucks at a cement and brick yard in Sandton so every delivery goes out full and correct. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Sandton-based, with most of your time spent at a cement and brick yard. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts

• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late

• Basic furniture assembly skills
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
