Electrical Artisan (Trade Tested)

Got your trade test and a steady hand on a DB board? This solar and backup power installer in Randburg needs you on the tools. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Randburg (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces

• Working at Heights certificate still in date
• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters

• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends

• Put your registration category (IE, MIE or single-phase tester) and registration number right under your name on the CV.
• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
