Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The rental property portfolio in Pretoria East has a list waiting for you. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll report in Pretoria East. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Basic first aid certificate
• Pool and borehole pump experience

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
