Job Description

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the electrical consulting engineering firm in Ballito. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Location: Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Size cables, transformers and protection using design software

What you need

BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
