Job Description

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the manufacturing plant in Gqeberha. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Gqeberha (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

You'll need

Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate

Helpful, not essential

Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
Protection or HV operating authorisation
