Job Description

This is hands-on electrical work in Benoni: new installs, repairs and CoCs that pass the first time. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is in Benoni (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies

Must-haves

Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
Valid Code 08 driver's licence
Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

Nice if you have

PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting
Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
