Job Description

Got your trade test and a steady hand on a DB board? This shopfitting and retail fit-out firm in George needs you on the tools. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a shopfitting and retail fit-out firm in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site

What you need

Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Valid Code 08 driver's licence
