Electrician for CoC Inspections – Fixed-Term

Got your trade test and a steady hand on a DB board? This office park maintenance team in Richards Bay needs you on the tools. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at an office park maintenance team in Richards Bay. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients

• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre

• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
