Job Description

Know your way around SANS 10254 and a geyser drip tray? The insurance repair contractor in Prospecton wants to hear from you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The work is in Prospecton, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Fit toilets, basins, showers and mixers to the client's chosen finishes
Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations
Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens
Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks

You'll need

Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
