Electrician's Assistant (House Wiring) – Immediate Start

Every wall and slab on this road rehabilitation project in Mbombela needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a road rehabilitation project on the Mbombela side of Mpumalanga. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
• Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
• Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
• Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
• Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
• Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision

• Willing to start early, often at 06:30
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
• Grade 8 or higher
• Prepared to travel between sites in the area
• Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
• You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE

• Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
• Paid weekly or fortnightly
