Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (Frail Care)

Your care keeps residents at a hospice in-patient unit in Hammarsdale safe, clean and comfortable through the day. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll report in Hammarsdale. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Keep the fluid and food intake charts accurate for every patient
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Help patients walk, transfer from bed to chair and do their exercises
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge

• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends

• A second South African language spoken by the patients you'll serve
• Dementia care or palliative care short course

• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Meals provided on shift at many frail care centres
• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Uniform supplied
