Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary (Frail Care)

You'll give hands-on nursing care at a home-based care agency in Somerset West, working alongside registered nurses. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a home-based care agency on the Somerset West side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Follow infection control rules, including hand hygiene and safe sharps disposal
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity

• Patient and gentle with elderly, frail or confused people
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate
• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts

• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Uniform supplied
• Meals provided on shift at many frail care centres

• Name the type of patients you've cared for, such as stroke patients or dementia residents, in your first CV line.
