Estate Housekeeper (Large Home)

You'll keep a guesthouse with family quarters in Mossel Bay clean, calm and running smoothly for the family. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Mossel Bay. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry

• Good with children and patient
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Trustworthy, with references from previous employers you can share

• Basic first aid or child CPR course
• Non-smoker
• Cooking experience with family meals

• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Written contract with fixed hours and duties
• Transport money for live-out staff
• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts

• Ask for a written contract and to be registered for UIF. Good employers expect the question and it protects you.
• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
