Job Description

Step up from guarding into supervising on a mining operation in Kimberley. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a mining operation on the Kimberley side of Northern Cape.

The work, day to day

Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
Do surprise night visits to check posts
Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
Meet the client weekly on security concerns

You'll need

Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
Matric, with a security management course a plus
Firm with staff but fair and consistent

Helpful, not essential

Mining or hospital security experience
Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts
Labour relations or basic supervision course
