Security Dispatcher (Armed Response)

From a chair in an armed response control room in Kimberley, you guide officers in the field to where they are needed. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at an armed response control room in Kimberley. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Matric
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard

• CCTV operator short course
• Call centre work in the past
• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Shift allowance for nights

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
