Job Description

The property development company in Boksburg needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

What your day looks like

Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
Prepare the final account at the end of the project
Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules

What you need

At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
Code 08 licence for site visits

Nice if you have

Estimating software experience on top of Excel
SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
