Estimator (Tenders & Pricing)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Pinetown. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a quantity surveying practice in Pinetown. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables

• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Study support for an honours degree
• Travel allowance for site visits
