Event Security Steward (Stadium)

The gate at a gated residential estate in Soweto is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Soweto (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols

• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clean criminal record

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
