Financial Accountant (Manufacturing)

A mid-sized manufacturing group in Stellenbosch needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules

• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One

• Completed articles at an audit firm
• Consolidation experience across several companies

• Paid professional body membership fees
• Performance bonus linked to company results
• Hybrid schedule outside month-end week
