Fitter and Turner (Engineering Workshop) – Immediate Start

The cement plant in Richards Bay needs an artisan who can fix a breakdown fast and machine a part when needed. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll report in Richards Bay. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Align shafts with a laser alignment tool after every drive change
• Help with electrical fault-finding on motors and sensors as a millwright
• Machine shafts, bushes and keyways on a lathe and milling machine
• Program and run CNC machines from engineering drawings
• Record work and spares used on the job card or CMMS

• Willing to work shifts, standby and weekend shutdowns
• N2 or N3 engineering subjects
• Basic understanding of the General Machinery Regulations
• You read engineering drawings and measure with micrometers and verniers
• Trade test as Fitter and Turner, Fitter, Millwright or Toolmaker

• Chance to study further toward a technician diploma

• If you can machine parts as well as fit them, say so clearly. Many factories want both skills in one person.
• Write your trade and trade test year first, then the machines you know, like "Filling lines, pumps, gearboxes".
