Job Description

You'll keep machines, conveyors and shafts running at the coal mine engineering workshop near Sandton. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Sandton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

What your day looks like

Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task
Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
Isolate and lock out machines under the site isolation procedure
Order spares and track them through the engineering store

What you need

N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)
Understands MHSA duties for artisans, including lockout and permits
Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster

Nice if you have

Flameproof equipment training for coal mines
Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
SAP PM module experience
