Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

An agricultural co-operative in Komani needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is an agricultural co-operative on the Komani side of Eastern Cape.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance

• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience

• Completed articles at an audit firm
• Consolidation experience across several companies

• Paid professional body membership fees
• Study assistance for board exams
• Medical aid and retirement fund contributions
