Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining) – Fixed-Term

You'll own the monthly numbers for a logistics company in Sandton, from journals to the management pack. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a logistics company on the Sandton side of Gauteng.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
