Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a private school trust in Secunda. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Secunda, Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Completed articles at an audit firm
• Consolidation experience across several companies

• Hybrid schedule outside month-end week
