Fleet Administrator (Licences and Services)

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a road freight company in Pinetown. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a road freight company in Pinetown. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers

• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Matric
• Good with Excel and email

• Transport management system (TMS) experience
• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Growth to transport manager

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
