Fleet Administrator (Licences and Services)

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a distribution depot in Soweto. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a distribution depot on the Soweto side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest

• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Good with Excel and email
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
