Fleet Administrator (Licences and Services)

Get off the road and into the control office at a distribution depot in Vereeniging. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a distribution depot on the Vereeniging side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics

• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Matric
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers

• Logistics or supply chain certificate
• Knowledge of cross-border documentation

• Growth to transport manager
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Office-based work with a steady roster

• Mention the tracking and Excel skills you have. Bring an example report if you are allowed to share one.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
