Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift) – Immediate Start

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a courier operations centre in Bloemfontein. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Bloemfontein-based, with most of your time spent at a courier operations centre. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics

• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Matric
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations

• Logistics or supply chain certificate
• Previous truck driving experience
• Transport management system (TMS) experience

• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Growth to transport manager
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
