Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a courier operations centre in Boksburg. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Boksburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers

• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Matric
• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Good with Excel and email
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong

• Knowledge of cross-border documentation
• Previous truck driving experience

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Growth to transport manager
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
