Fleet Tracking Controller (Night Shift)

Behind every truck on the road is a controller; at a road freight company in Rustenburg, that could be you. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Rustenburg, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
• Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
• Update customers on delivery times and delays
• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route

• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Good with Excel and email

• Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
• Logistics or supply chain certificate
• Transport management system (TMS) experience

• Training on the fleet and tracking systems
• Growth to transport manager
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
