Job Description

You'll plant, prune and fell trees for a sawmill in the hills near Tzaneen. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Tzaneen (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Apply herbicide around young trees as instructed
Plant seedlings in prepared pits at the right spacing
Wear chainsaw chaps, helmets and ear protection at all times
Sharpen and service chainsaws daily
Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader
Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders

Must-haves

Valid ID
Available for early starts and fire-season standby
Passes the medical check for fire crews
Able to work in a crew and follow the crew leader
