Job Description

Planting to harvest, a fruit orchard near Randburg runs on good tractor drivers. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a fruit orchard in Randburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting
Plant rows straight, using GPS guidance where the tractor has it
Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes

What you need

Available to live on or near the farm
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons

Helpful, not essential

Experience with GPS guidance or auto-steer
Combine harvester experience
Code 8 or Code 10 licence for road trips
