Foundation Phase Teacher (Grade 1) – Immediate Start

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at a low-fee private school in Cape Town CBD. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Cape Town CBD, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term

• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
