Foundation Phase Teacher (Grade 1)

Teach at a rural combined school in Sasolburg where your planning, marking and patience all count. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a rural combined school on the Sasolburg side of Free State.

• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind

• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach

• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework
