Job Description

Guests at this airport hotel in Paarl meet you first, so the stay starts at your desk. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is an airport hotel on the Paarl side of Western Cape.

The work, day to day

Quote flights, car hire and holiday packages on a GDS such as Amadeus or Galileo.
Answer booking emails and calls, and quote rates from the rate sheet.
Balance your cash float and card slips before handover.
Allocate rooms and pass early check-ins to housekeeping.
Run the night audit, close the day and print the flash report.
Book shuttles, dinner reservations and game drives for guests.

What you need

Calm with an unhappy guest at 11pm
You can work rotating shifts, including nights
Honest with cash and card payments
Confident on a computer and quick to learn a property system
A hospitality or tourism diploma, or 1 year at a hotel front desk
Clear spoken and written English

Helpful, not essential

Revenue or yield management exposure
Opera PMS or Protel certificate
