Packing season at a citrus packhouse near Epping means lots of shifts and lots of work. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a citrus packhouse. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them

• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Valid ID or permit
• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts

• Matric for QC posts
• Forklift licence for palletising roles
• Knowledge of export standards like GLOBALG.A.P.

• Transport from nearby towns
• Rehire for next season if you perform well
• Protective clothing supplied
• Overtime pay during peak weeks

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
• Apply before the season starts, often a month before first harvest. Recruiting days fill up fast.
