Fruit Sorter and Grader

Quick hands and good eyes are all a berry packing facility near Kathu really needs from you. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll report in Kathu. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them

• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Valid ID or permit

• Matric for QC posts
• Forklift licence for palletising roles
• Previous packhouse work

• Rehire for next season if you perform well
• Transport from nearby towns
• Protective clothing supplied

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
• Mention the fruit you have packed before and how many seasons. Packhouses rehire the fast, careful packers.
