Gate Security Officer (Residential Estate) – Fixed-Term

Residents and staff at a distribution warehouse in Atlantis need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a distribution warehouse in Atlantis. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
