From a chair in a remote video monitoring centre in Cape Town CBD, you guide officers in the field to where they are needed. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a remote video monitoring centre on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape.

• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio

• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Matric
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)

• Speaking more than one local language
• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• CCTV operator short course

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
