Gate Security Officer (Residential Estate)

You'll control who comes in and out of a distribution warehouse in Johannesburg CBD, and log every visitor properly. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a distribution warehouse in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers

• Provident fund contributions
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
