Gate Security Officer (Residential Estate)

The gate at a construction yard in Mbombela is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a construction yard on the Mbombela side of Mpumalanga.

• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clean criminal record
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Provident fund contributions
